Lovin' my spray paint today

I have spray painted so much that I can still smell it on me. I looked like I had a black mustache. These are some of my fun treasures I have been working on today. Before

 After

Can you tell I LOVE Cherries.

Then I went Garage sale-ing with my sister on Saturday and I found these funny little Folk Art wall hangings. I had to have them $2.00 for both, SOLD!  They have little animals in the trees look closely very cute.

I couldn't leave them that color although it wasn't that bad. But this is how they turned out and they are hanging in my eating area.

When I was garage sale-ing I also found a little brass chandelier that I thought will look good in the Boyz bathroom Look at the before and after below.

  Before    After

I will try and get it hung this weekend. I will show you how that looks when that is done.

See the Fork in the background of the next picture?
It had a whole in it that I think a spoon was attached to it. I only could find the fork at GW. I spruced up the paint on it and added a glass knob and hung it in my kitchen. Maybe I'll hang a cute Apron on it....

I had a great day playing with some more of my great finds.
Have a treasure filled weekend.

What am I going to do with all these treasures?

I had another great day at "My" Thrift shop and GW. I call it "Mine", is because I don't tell anyone else about it. It is where I found my $600. chandelier for $5.00. It's my secret shhhhhh!  They price things low to begin with then it's 50% off of everything. So I'm walking around and gathering little bits of this and that and I couldn't carry it all. So I grabbed a waste paper basket and filled it up. There was a gentleman putting more goodies out and I saw this wire.....basket.....3 tier.....  blah blah blah.... need to see ASAP, in the bottom of the bin. I asked him if I may look at it and he got it out and it was $1.00. Don't forget 50% off !!!! I tucked that little sucker right under my arm and ran.... well not really but I was so excited.
I was now to the point that I could hardly carry it all down the stairs. Ooops I hope that didn't give you a clue to where "my" Thrift shop is.....
This is what I came home with after spending $16.00.

What am I going to do with all these new treasures right?

I stopped and had a nice lunch outside and read my new magazines
That was so fun to sit and look at a magazine from cover to cover in one sitting. I enjoyed seeing everyones Studios.

I wasn't done shopping though so I was off to the new GW. I told myself 45 minutes tops OK?
2 hours later........ this is what I came out with .

OK stop!
Go home!
Do something with this stuff!

So I did
This is where I put some of my fine gems.
This is now in my Studio holding some of my supplies. I really love this piece it is so much fun to look at and see some of my fun doo dads.

I love the shape of this jar it's got great curvvvvves.
Now it holds Dog treats for Henry

I just loved this guy he made me laugh. He is saying Neener Neener . Now he holds my scissors.
I have so much more to do with those plates and stool........ Just stay tuned I am getting the spray paint out today.

Make sure you check back to see what is next.

Brrrrr Is it Fall?

I woke up this morning and it was cold. I had all my windows open and I was freezing. Is it fall? I thought this was July. Henry didn't want to get out of bed this morning I had to make the bed around him.

I found a cute little chair for my living room on Craigslist. I was looking for a rocking chair but I couldn't resist the cute fabric on this chair. What do you think?
I think it will be great for just another seating spot.
I went to some garage sales today and didn't buy anything. Either stuff was too expensive or yukky. I think Carie and I are going sale-ing  tomorrow. I hope I find some new treasures.

Crack Pots

Tuesday I went to an event here inPortland called Crack Pots. It was held outside at a Hotel / restaurant / pub called the Edgefield.  Local artists were showing and selling their art. Anything from recycled class, coffee cups, metal cans, telephone wire, marbles, and many more metal objects. My Mom, my Sister Carie,  my niece Ella and I  enjoyed seeing all the fun colors and talented artists. I also saw some things that I have made  in the past, shucks I could have made a pretty penny for some of the stuff  I have made.
Here is an artist and her inspiration.

Us 4 girls all got this crazy idea that we were going to make some of these fun artistic creations, so off to Goodwill we went.  My sister picked a few little plates to make a plate flower........ I will look forward to seeing what she has come up with. I picked up a few odds and ends. A really cute bird cage thingy.

We had so much fun being together on the beautiful day.

Carie and I sure do love our Niece Ella.

Today I think I became a Crack Pot! I went to a Grand Opening at a Goodwill this morning. OMG I have totally lost it. The place was PACKED!  But of course I was in the middle of it all.
I would still be there but I was out of money for the day . I picked up some jars  and some finials I have just placed them around the house. I took one of the jars and made it a treat jar for Henry (my dog).
I tied some doggie cookie cutters (I got from GW) to some yarn and  beads that I had in my stash already . Now it is a fun and pretty jar for his chicken treats.

I'm on the hunt for a rocking chair now. I may have to go back to "My" Thrift Shop.

Contain my Clutter

What to do with these fun tins?

I have an Idea? I will need uhmmm........ Yeah this thing.....

I needed a place to clean up the different cups of Pens, Markers and Rulers that were all over my desk. So with a little bit of this and a little of that I made this work in my Art Studio.

I have had this "C" hanging around and it needed a face lift. With some buttons and a glue gun this is what I got.

I had a Great day today.  I think I might work on my chandelier tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by.

My First Entry

Well, there is  a first for everything so here I go. I have been reading your blogs and have been inspired again to do some of the things I love the most. I LUV  to give something old a new life. My world has changed temporarily and I have to give it a new life too. I have taken the time to find and hunt for the treasures that make me happy. I frequent the local Goodwill's and Thrift Shops in town.
I found something so exciting I almost wet my pants. I have been looking for a small chandelier for my spare bathroom ( I refer to this bathroom as the "Boyz" bathroom, I will fill you in later). Anyway I went to my local Thrift Shop and as I was poking around for treasures and I spotted a big box with a chandelier peeking out. I asked the salesman how much it was and he said $10.00  but 1/2 off. "Please can you put this in my cart?" I said as fast as I could. I really didn't know what I was getting but from what I was able to  see I knew It was worth more then $5.00.
This is what I was able to see.
When I got home I reached into the box and found directions and a small box full of crystals. They were all labeled to where the were suppose to go.

I looked it up online and only could find one closest to this one and it is worth around $600. I almost wet my pants.
It is too big to hang in the Boyz bathroom but it will be beautiful hanging over my bed in the Master bedroom.
I'm not a brass kind of gal so it will be black.

I will keep you posted on the progress on my new Gem!
