Last Snow of the Year

It's snowing. I still get so excited every time it snows. I am very thankful that I am not out working in it nor do I have to drive in it. I rented 3 movies and I have a fire going, I am a happy girl.

It has only been snowing for about an hour and 1/2 in these pictures.
The weather people didn't know this was going to happen today. Hmmmmm, how can you miss 2-4 inches of snow?

I just got off the phone with my little brother and he has been sitting on the freeway for hours.
I just want everyone to get home safe .
Until then I will sit warm and cozy and thankful.

Felted Teddy Bear

I wanted to share with you a Teddy Bear I made and gave as a Christmas present.
I started with some Lions Brand wool yarn and fun fur.

With a little knit here and a little purl there and WA-LA 2 legs, 2 arms, 2 ears, 1 snout, and a great big body.

Can you see it all now?

I sewed all the pieces together and this is what I got.

Henry had a new friend. You can see how long it is in comparison to Henry.

I couldn't leave well enough alone, right? So I put him in the washing machine.
He was knit with wool yarn, so when you wash wool in HOT water it shrinks and turns into felt. The fur yarn doesn't shrink it just gets fuzzy.

He's starting to felt and get smaller and more dense. But in he goes for some more hot water and agitation........
This is the New Teddy with eyes and stuffing. I put little plastic pellets in with his stuffing to give him some weight and squishy-ness.
This is Teddy BEFORE his spa bath.

Here is Teddy AFTER his spa bath
Can you tell how much he shrunk?

Now he needs a collar and some sparkle.
He is all dressed and ready for his new owner.
Evie named him "Bling" and she just loves him.
I enjoy knitting these Bears. Some are small and some are big. It all depends on the needle size. I was playing around with my pattern and different size needles, with no fur and this is who I got.
It's Piglet.
I did some needle felting and gave him a shirt and some pink ears.
He felted quite a bit. Sorry no before pictures.
Here is another Bear I knitted awhile ago.
I have more yarn to make another one Who wants one? :)

Oregon is the place to be

You just never know what the weather will be like from one day to the next in Oregon. Last week it was 13 degrees and today the morning looked like this.

I looks like Fall

But as you can see the street is very wet. It has been pouring, pouring, pouring rain. I didn't want to take pictures of that. You get the picture.

I few Christmas shots of my little place

Henry went and saw Santa. We took the light rail (MAX) to get down town. We heard that Santa was going to be at the Hotel Vintage Plaza a pet friendly hotel. So Henry put on his Santa suit and away we went.

Ella ( my Niece) was Santa's helper at the Hotel Vintage Plaza

Ella also helped Annie my Mom's Dog

Now if we can keep the chocolates away from these Fur babies we will all be doing great.
We had a bit of a mishap yesterday but I think we are all fairing ok.
Oregon is the place to be!
Merry Christmas

Meet Marge

I don't think I have introduced you to my Marge. She is an '86 Toyota, New Horizon that I bought earlier this year.

She was a project I worked on this summer. She isn't done being Funk-i-fied yet but I thought it's about time I shared her with you. I have enjoyed her very much. We have gone on some fun short adventures. I will probably paint the inside next year when my shoulder is all better. Marge got her name from a combination of a friend and her future . Her full name is "Large Marge the Party Barge".
This is her Before and Nows ....... and still in progress......

Top Bunk
Before
Ella loves to go in Marge too.
Now

I just love this owl fabric. So I made some curtains for the top bunk. The pillow I made with some felt and sewed it onto a pillow case that I got from Goodwill.

Joey (my cat) has assumed the camping position.

I found some small quilts and I made some slip covers for the dinette.

I got this cute striped fabric at a garage sale for $2.00 So I covered the valances on all the windows.

I took some scrapbooking paper and decoupage it onto the table. Then I put a clear coat of polyurethane on top to protect it.
Henry loves to go in Marge. He is the best copilot.

My brother and I put new carpet in. It was free from a Hotel reno.
This is the bathroomit has a small shower and toilet, it's perfect.
I am always on the hunt for some fun stuff to put in Marge.
She is our home away from home.
I take my music, my laptop and play movies. I take along some knitting, needle felting, some paints........ what ever fits in a small carryon suitcase.
Who knows where we will be next. We may come knockin' on your door.
Cindy
